(I don’t look like this any more but I’m too vain to change it)
Hi, I’m Jo.
Aged very nearly 40 with the wrinkles and (very short) grey hairs to prove it.
I have 4 children – 3 hormonal girls and 1 very busy little boy who likes to randomly scream. I also have a husband.
In 2016 I was diagnosed with a stage 1a grade 3 breast cancer. I was very lucky to have caught it early (#coppafeel). I decided to have a double mastectomy and reconstruction, which was followed by 3 sessions of chemotherapy.
I was told chemo was do-able, they were right but I don’t want to do it again.
We’re all now just trying to get our lives back on track. Slowly. One day at a time.
I’m hoping this blog will be a bit of an outlet. You see, I’ve always worried about getting cancer and when I did my life all became a bit surreal. I’m still not sure how I feel about it all but am hoping that through the process of writing about it (and other stuff of course) I’ll start to heal.
